HISTORY
In the 1970's, Richard Borders, an industrial engineer employed by the control division of a large corporation, was handling sales of his company's electrical controls throughout northern California. His sales included motor control centers, various electrical control systems and electrical components for large and small industrial customers. In some cases he found that a project or customer needed only one small panel very quickly and his competitors and his employer could not satisfy that need. This problem in some cases put a very large order at risk.
He undertook the design and manufacture of the necessary control equipment as a weekend and evening project. In this way he was able to satisfy the customers needs and was often able to obtain an order for his employer covering the major equipment on a project.
Then in the 80's Richard retired from his employer of over 30 years and went ahead full time with this other "moonlighting" business. The business was soon named Control Systems West and was eventually incorporated in 2004.
Borders proactive role – to provide his clients with a custom product - remains the basis of the work Control Systems West, Inc. does today. The company focuses on the engineering, design and fabrication of superior custom-engineered Control Panels enhanced by additional engineering expertise and field services. Now overseen by Bruce Borders, the company provides complete systems integration including:
